RYLAND HORMEL
Athlete, Artist, Teacher.
Born and raised in the iconic Haight Ashbury neighborhood in San Francisco, Ryland is a photographer and creative focused on slowing down and connecting with humanity. After playing soccer at Connecticut College, Ryland picked up a camera and began his creative journey. Since then, Ry has gone on to work in both the commercial and documentary space. He had his work published in a book titled Chicago by Trope Reader in 2017 and now is working with the same publisher on his first coffee-table styled book titled Freedom: When do you feel free? Aside from his photography projects, Ryland works with individuals, non-profits and brands as a creative consultant. When not in San Francisco, Ryland can be spotted on the road alongside his trusty Malamute, Moose, documenting his adventures through images and written stories.
